IFFA is a leading international trade fair focused on technologies for processing, packaging, and selling meat and alternative proteins. It takes place every three years at the Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds in Frankfurt, Germany. The next edition will be held from May 13 to May 18, 2028.
Organized by Messe Frankfurt GmbH, IFFA serves as a platform for top-tier exhibitors and decision-makers from across the meat processing value chain. The event is exclusively open to professional trade visitors and brings together professionals from machinery and plant engineering, food technology, packaging, ingredients, logistics, and research and development.
IFFA is structured into five thematic zones known as the 'IFFA Worlds.' These include the World of Processing, which focuses on machinery and technology for efficient processing; the World of Packaging, showcasing innovative packaging solutions; the World of Ingredients, presenting spices and additives; the World of New Proteins, dedicated to alternative proteins such as plant-based solutions and cell cultures; and the World of Skills and Sales, highlighting craftsmanship and culinary talent through competitions and live demonstrations.
The event covers a wide range of product groups including frozen products, heat treatment, labeling, meat additives, meat hygiene, meat ingredients, meat packaging, meat processing, meat products, packaging machines, preservation, refrigeration machines, refrigeration technology, and sausage products. It is recognized as an exhibition for Meat Processing, Machine Construction, and Food.
IFFA provides a unique opportunity to gain insights into cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and sensor systems that are used to automate and optimize production processes. It also highlights sustainable packaging concepts, energy-efficient systems, and alternative protein sources, addressing emerging dietary trends and opening up new market opportunities.
The fair is held in Frankfurt am Main, offering access to a modern exhibition center with excellent connections to Frankfurt International Airport, the railway network, and major highways. It reflects the transformation of the meat and protein industry and serves as a key venue for shaping global trends.
