1. Necessary cookies
The site uses secure session cookies for sign-in, form protection and retaining the market during a session. The expo_geo_session cookie contains a signed market and expiry, not the original IP address. Editing it does not grant access to another market.
2. Market selection
On a first visit the server determines the country from the IP address. It may use ipwho.is over HTTPS, which receives the IP address. The country result is cached under a hashed key. A Pro user’s preference is saved to their account and is not overwritten by the language switch.
3. Optional cookies
The expo_ref referral cookie is used only with the relevant consent for partner attribution. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent access to the catalog.
4. Controls
